Faith's Law
The state of Illinois recently passed a law that requires all schools to take additional steps to check for past sexual misconduct of potential employees. Specifically, the Act adds employment history reviews as part of the hiring and vetting process, requires notices to be provided to parents/guardians and the applicable student when there’s an alleged act of sexual misconduct, and makes other changes to the process schools must follow when handling allegations of sexual misconduct.
All children have the right to grow up in a safe and healthy community with welcoming and nurturing schools. See the attached Faith's Law Resource Guide for more information on our strict process for hiring the most qualified professionals to teach our students.
