High School Prep

At St. Josaphat School, our goal is to guide students and their parents to successfully navigate the high school admissions process. We believe it is our role to nurture the whole child spiritually, intellectually, physically, and socially. In the last two years, 98% of our graduates have been accepted into their first choice high school.

The St. Josaphat School High School Prep Team provides high school counseling beginning in 7th grade. We work together with students and their families to make sure they are prepared through every step of the high school application process. While St. Josaphat School actively supports Catholic high schools, we also encourage families to explore all high school options to find the right fit for individual students and their families.

Some examples of support our families receive include:

Parent meetings in 7th and 8th grades focusing on gathering data on the schools and discussing school choice criteria-academic, social, financial and student’s interests
Individual parent/student/teacher meetings working through student’s academic readiness and preparation for high school-entrance exam, time management/executive functioning, curriculum development, test scores, and grades
Weekly Seminar class in 8th grade to prepare students for the admission tests, applications, and socio-emotional decision making
